About Us
Permik is a proud, family-owned business that has been a cornerstone for industrial manufacturers in South Carolina for over 45 years. Rooted in North Charleston, SC, we are a third-generation company with a rich history that began in the late 1940s when Michael R. Onufer founded Southeastern Supply Co. (SESCO). This humble beginning laid the groundwork for what would become Permik Industrial Supply in 1978, established by his son, Michael L. Onufer, along with his business partner, Perry Patrick.
Comprehensive Solutions
From our early days of offering belt splicing services to industrial manufacturers, Permik has grown into a comprehensive supplier, providing a wide range of products tailored to meet the unique maintenance needs of our customers. As the company expanded, Michael L. Onufer partnered with his brother, John R. Onufer, further diversifying our offerings by introducing engineering and design services to the industrial sector in the Lowcountry.
A New Vision
In 2014, John R. Onufer’s son, Michael E. Onufer, joined the team, bringing with him a fresh perspective on sales and a vision for the future. After years of preparation, Michael E. Onufer took the reins of Permik in 2023, guiding the company into a new era. Under his leadership, Permik has continued to innovate, expanding our service offerings with a dedicated and growing service maintenance team.
Our Values
At the heart of Permik’s operations are the values that have guided us from the beginning—relationships, trust, and exceptional service. These family principles remain integral to our identity, ensuring that we not only meet but exceed the needs of industrial manufacturers. Today, we continue to prioritize problem-solving and troubleshooting, always putting service first.
